Mobility Data Dashboard offers a platform for accessing mobility data insights provided by DTAC, a leading telecommunications company. The insights are particularly about domestic tourism in Thailand, through consultation with the Design for Creative Economy Research Unit at Faculty of Architecture, Chulalongkorn University.

Boonmee Lab is involved in the data process from framing the concept of domestic tourism in the time of COVID-19 to processing large amount of mobility data. The data was sampled by DTAC to ensure data anonymity before reaching us but its size was still so large that it took days to extract insights in their current form.

Upon accessing the dashboard, users are greeted with a user-friendly interface, designed to streamline the navigation and data exploration process. Central in this dashboard, map is surrounded by other charts that can show relevant information and also be interacted to adjust the map. For example, we can see top 10 provinces coming to visit Chiang Mai or even more details on popular districts in the province.

For smaller cities, there are recommendations to improve their tourism business. As shown below, a tourism cluster for Chai Nat is suggested to strengthen its potential as a destination.

We also designed and developed a website, named Tapping the Untapped, for articles and future projects pertaining to mobility data for DTAC. Catering to a diverse audience, including researchers, policymakers, analysts, and local businesses, the website demonstrates DTAC's commitment to leveraging technology and data analytics to drive innovation and contribute to societal development. By providing access to mobility data, DTAC empowers stakeholders across various sectors to harness the power of data for bottom-up informed decisions.
